Navigating History was a project organised by curator Deborah Smith and Proboscis which commissioned artists to produce work which focused on bringing attention to local history collections. Projects included art, design, jewellery, film and interactive technology and took place in Folkestone, Lewes and Worthing. The website includes, My History a web based project, collecting ideas on which paper based items from our lives could be kept for the future to contribute towards an understanding of 21st Century local history. A permanent collection of the commissions are now available from the record office and libraries. The navigation provides two alternative points of entry for the different audiences who visited the site. Visitors could find information either by projects or place.
